Burns are different levels of badness and need the right care to heal. Here are five good ways to treat burns at home:
1. Cool Water
Run cool (not cold) water over the burn right away for at least 10 to 15 minutes to help ease the pain, redness, and heat.
2. Aloe Vera
On the burned area, put pure aloe vera gel or creams containing aloe vera to calm the skin, lower inflammation, and speed up the mending process.
3. Honey
Add a little raw honey to the burn and cover it with a clean cloth. Honey is antimicrobial, so it can help protect the area and speed up the healing process.
4. Cold Compress
To ease the pain and reduce swelling, put a cold pack or a clean, damp cloth soaked in cool water on the burned area.
5. Oatmeal Bath
Soak the afflicted area in a lukewarm bath with colloidal oatmeal for 15-20 minutes. Burn irritation can be relieved with oatmeal.
