It can be painful and annoying to deal with an itchy head. Here are five good home treatments that will help soothe and relieve an itchy scalp:
1. Rinse with ACV
Use equal parts water and apple cider vinegar.
Apply the mixture to your scalp using a spray bottle or cotton ball.
Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse well.
2. Coconut Oil Massage
Gently warm coconut oil and apply to scalp.
Gently massage oil into your scalp for a few minutes.
Keep it on for 30 minutes or overnight before shampooing your hair.
3. Aloe Vera Gel
Fresh aloe vera gel from a leaf can be applied to the scalp.
Leave it on 30–60 minutes, then rinse.
As a moisturiser, aloe vera can reduce scalp itching.
4. Tea Tree Oil Treatment
Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with coconut or olive oil.
Apply the mixture to your scalp and wait 15-20 minutes.
Thoroughly rinse. Tea tree oil reduces scalp irritation with antibacterial qualities.
5. Baking Soda Scrub
Mix 1-2 teaspoons baking soda with water to make a paste.
Apply the paste to itchy scalp areas gently.
After a few minutes, thoroughly rinse.
Baking soda exfoliates the scalp and reduces buildup and inflammation.
